Your party leaves towards the Access area. As you examine the weapon Emogen lent you. You ask to the group at large if this place has any sort of self defense classes you could do. You can't say you know how to use an axe, or really any non-firearm sort of weapon.
"You should try the Gym! They have all sorts of classes on rotation, usually based on common weaponry used by fae. Stuff like swords, clubs, spears, axes, bows, etc..." Kamiko says, "I um... Wouldn't mind brushing up on some basics if you decide on any of those."
"Can I come?" Tamako asks.
You smile and say you'll consider it, depending on how safe it is.
"I'll be fine.", your daughter says rolling her eyes. "Emogen, you should come to!"
"I have been wanting to shave off a few pounds. Been hitting the desserts pretty hard lately, heh." Emogen says guiltily with a small smile.
Your group reaches the Access area, though like before you don't go to the area proper. Instead you take a more populated hallway near the portal room. Following the other workers, It eventually opens up onto an underground train platform. The tiled floors, benches, terminals, and even the customer service desk are made of metal with lights fading in and out in hypnotic dances, much like the rest of the facility. The one place it hasn't reached are the trains themselves, as every single one passing by seems to be a steam locomotive of some kind, clashing a bit with the aesthetics.
Pulling out some tickets from the assignment file, Kamiko hands them to one of the conductors and you are all ushered to a train. Upon entering you are instantly confused. The inside looks like a much more modern, and much spacier than the outside might make it seem. You don't get to experience long, as Kamiko starts to walk towards the doors to the next cabin saying, "Hmm... seats are a bit small, let's see if we can find one with benches."
You walk through several cars. One looks like an older train interior with wood walls and seats, with dainty curtains set on the windows. another feels like an street trolley, and in yet another you feel like you are traveling around the fleshy insides of a bug.
"Ooo! Can we sit here?" Tamako says, stopping at a car that you recognize immediately from one too many anime. It's the inside of a Japanese commuter train. You half expect to see a groper, but the car is empty except for the four of you. You group decides that this is as good a place as any, and sit.
You ask how long the trip will be.
"Roughly an hour or two." She says, "I might take a long around. Emogen, would you mind staying with them?"
Emogen nods and shoulders her axe. After about five minutes of looking out the window, and turns to sit down properly.
Snuggling up to you your daughter says, "You know, anime made these seems a lot cooler than they actually are. I'm getting kinda bored."
Tamako let's out a yawn. Emogen chuckles.
