>>5163422You watch Caulifla rise up off the ground, brows furrowed as she also searches for her next enemy. You see Broly facing down one fighter with a double sword staff like the oldest twins have back home, using the Energy Body technique to block the rapid-fire blows with his forearms. Milha and Koruza have another in the far corner that you can't actually see through the darkness, but knowing what both of them can do there's no doubt whoever is there would rather be dead than fighting their powers. Then you hear it again, the damned sound of another dark being entering this realm from behind you. But you're tired of this.
“BEGONE!” you bellow, turning and firing a second Death Slash over your shoulder without even rising back up to your feet. The shadowy figure cries out in pain, fading back into nothing before it'd even risen out of the ground. Gritting your teeth against the pain in your knee, you force yourself back upright as well. “Tch! Damned bitch.”
“HAAAA!!” Future Chaya roars, flying over towards a dragon-looking humanoid phantom and decapitating it with a single kick. Ace then blazes past her, azure sparkling aura flaring wildly as he drives his ki-clad fist directly through another's skull face. But then you hear it, the sound you feared.
“GAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaa!!” you hear someone crying in pain, and focusing your ki sense feel your heart sink: that was Chaya?! You immediately raise your right hand to your forehead, teleport with your Instant Transmission directly to her side to see more than a foot of one of the Darkwraith's wide straight swords protruding from her chest. And without hesitation you attack, raising your left hand and fire a full-power energy blast. Your energy disintegrates her attacker's upper body instantaneously, then reach out and catch your daughter before she can fall to the ground.
“Chaya! Stay with me kiddo!” you say, looking into her eyes worriedly. They're glazed over, but as you talk she blinks, refocusing her eyes and seeing you.
“D-Daa...dy?” she asks, then winces, coughing up blood. You feel helpless, unable to do anything to help her. She reaches up, grabbing at the sword and trying to push it out, but she has no strength and only manages to cut her hands up.
“I got you kiddo. Hold still.” you tell her, holding your daughter in your right then grab ahold of the sword with your left. But before you pull it free, you telepathically reach out to Caulifla. “Don't engage anyone else, get over here now. Your sister needs you.”
“On it!” she replies, you sensing her approaching. Unfortunately, she isn't the only one.
