so flashes are rather easy to make i made lots as a kid
you need aluminium/zinc powder (aluminium one can be scraped from aluminium pans or foil, soda cans if there are any) and sulfur (match powder will suffice) the are also basically 99.69% sulfur fungicides that are usually called gardening sulfur or something like that
sometimes ppl use them for cleaning but i doubt that this school has enough budget so we'll need to improvise
oh and also you can wrap the flints they use for those cheap plastic lighters in a aluminium foil or better yet a spring
if you will heat it and throw against the ground or any hard surface hard enough you will create a p decent flash
it's purely decorative though you won't harm anyones eyes hard enough and it takes time to heat up

you can make nitric acid rather easily if you have fucking ammonium nitrate which you don't have
you can try to make said KNO3 from the cold packs they have in hospitals and pharmacies
my school had them dunno about that one
however it would require you to actually cook and i have no idea how to do that stealthy
but it would be p amazing if we had KNO3 it's actually a good oxydizer

if you will look up how to make a pipe bomb KNO3 is the first thing you'll see
it's not the most effective and avaliable one but the list of products that containt it is narrow and easy to monitor
it's also easy to detect on those magic scanners they have in aeroports and all the search dogs are trained to sniff it from kilometers away
like anybody with a three digit iq can bypass those and use other way more conspicuous ingredients for their own boom juice
