>>6297119>>6297125>>6297177I'm not sure what else to do so i end up wandering down the stairs and looking around the saloon. Empty. Not a soul down here. So much for buying a bunch of booze to lather up with, if they take my currency. I end up facing a wall and decide to test my reflexes. It's a nice distraction, trying to see if i can get myself to move quicker.
As nice as being 'dead' is for some things. This is really proving to not be one. I can't get my muscles to work faster, in fact it seems the only way I'm improving is just finding a more efficient path of movement. That alone has been interesting but the lack of a way to really improve beyond moving correctly is frustrating.
I put the hours to good use, spinning, drawing, holstering my Colt. The practice is at least refreshing what i know and making it easier to do with each pass. Though it grows stale after a while.
As i go about practicing my quick quick draw posture, i do hear footsteps from the staircase at the other end of the building. "That is an odd way to stand, as if your presenting your crotch to the wall for some reason." Feminine, soft, flowy. I assume it's Carcina and turn to look. Yep, it's the elf.
"Just a way to draw and faster." I say as i get back to a normal standing posture. "Not even sunrise yet, you're up early."
"We elves are only 'asleep' for four hours. Any amount of time after is laziness."
"Good to know. Say, you lot had a price on the head of that Necro sorcerer right?"
"Necromancer, yes."
"Any chance i can claim a piece of that pie?"
"Pie? I don't understand."
"A cut of the reward money. Is it possible to claim some myself?"
"Not without a guild authorization. The guild doesn't pay out to non-members for completing it's assignments."
"That's a darn shame, what about the bandits, the local sheriff have bounties on any of 'em?"
"Sadly Ributesland is too poor to have it's lawkeepers offer rewards for bandits. It's mostly a case of 'you loot the thieves and what you can sell their ill gotten gains for is your pay for removing them."
"Jeez. . . I should have ran their pockets."
"Fret not, we set aside some of what we sold for to act as your cut. You were the one that took down all six after all."
"Quite neighborly of you." I rub the bottom of the mask with my thumb as i think. "Do they have gambling here?"
"Mostly dice games but i can't recommend it. Was that your preferred way to pass time in life?"
"One of many, but i'd prefer a card game."
"Perhaps if the paper here weren't so easy to damage as to expose the cards and easily track them." She giggles and would turn to look at the paperwork counter. "Have you considered attempting to join the adventurers guild? My sister would be up soon, giving her a headache from ink and paper sounds like an excellent way to slight my sibling."
> Join the guild?> Collect your pay and Skip to sunrise?> ask about magic or other stuff?> ???
