"We got ourselves a murder mystery on our hands. I'm guessing [REDACTED] or one of the other two names we saw murdered this guy." The light turns on. "...gal?" The light turns back off.
"I'm guessin' she didn't want to redact all of this stuff but maybe she was forced to?" Edward shrugs. "Anomalies are weird."
"My best guess?" You lean in to whisper, not wanting to agitate the anomalous ghost. "Maybe she was killed by that [REDACTED] guy after she covered something up? Loose ends or something like that?"
"Yeah, that would track from what little we know. Can't shoot a ghost so the only way we can get it to leave is to appease it."
"Appease..." You glance back at the lightbulb. "Okay. I would like to make you an offer. Would you be willing to listen?" The lightbulb doesn't turn on.
"If we found out who killed you, would you be willing to move on?" The lightbulb briefly flickers before it turns back off. So, that's a yes, okay! Detective Vincent has a case on his hands!
>SIDEQUEST OBTAINED: WHODUNNIT? (Find out who, exactly, killed Caspian. You'll have to ask around the facility for clues.)
"We should probably leave." Edward glances back at the entrance. "Before we do anything to piss the ghost off."
"There's one last thing I want to ask you, Caspian." You pull out your handy-dandy M.A.D WORLD glasses. "I want to see-"

An intense, seething pain erupts in your skull like a firecracker going off in your grey matter. You can't even begin to describe the sheer intensity of the pain. It doesn't just stop in your head, no no, it SPREADS. It spreads down your neck, down your chest, all the way down until it reaches the tips of your toes. Waves of seething, burning pain rack your body.
You try to speak, but the only thing that comes out of your mouth is blood. Thin, foamy trails of blood run down the corners of your mouth. You try to move, but your body refuses to listen to you.
"ANOMALY IS HOSTILE! I REPEAT, ANOMALY IS HOSTILE!" Edward aims his gun towards the lightbulb (assuming that's where the ghost is) but he quickly realizes how stupid shooting a ghost would be. He rushes over to you, and he grabs you by the arm. He forcefully drags you back to the entrance of the room.
With some distance from the anomaly, your arms are now no longer paralyzed. You scramble to put on the M.A.D WORLD glasses before Edward drags you back outside. The world is now drenched in sepia except for one, very colorful ball of light in the middle of the room. The ball of light hovers around the light bulb. You narrow your eyes, and the ball of light condenses into something vaguely humanoid.
You can't make out much, but you can see her face. It's a young woman, probably no older than 20, with blue...something. Blue eyes, blue hair, you can't tell. There's a massive gash on her throat, probably made by a knife; the cut's far too clean for anything else. She's crying, you think.
Your mind goes blank. It takes a while before you wake back up.
