As the party draws into the dark and dreary tomb, Jon hears the slightest sound of something shuffling in the darkness. He doesn't feel the "warmth" of a living creature, nor hear the sound the shallow breathing, but moreso a "presence"- like the feeling of being watched all over. He knows they are not alone.
<span class="mu-b">"Now!"</span>
With a spring, Elly's arm shoots up, a new torch touching the old. The pitch quickly ignites and casts off a bright light that illuminates the tomb with a flaring start. Like revealing a criminal caught in an act, several creatures look back at the explorers with not a sound- but the look of startled cats. Their eyes glint back the firelight menacingly.
<span class="mu-r">"G-Ghouls! Corpse eaters!"</span> Richard cries. He has heard tales of one picking through the village's own graveyard; but that was just one small, stunted ghoul- nowhere near as bold and horrible as this pack.
Thankfully, your ambush went well. With your surprise attack- you managed to avoid being surrounded by an ambush. With the snail friend in the front along with Jon and Richard, your two unarmed noncombatants in Nasir and Elly are both safe from the fighting, and <span class="mu-i">do not require any defense rolls to avoid injury</span>, though extra attack rolls can be made for them.
<span class="mu-g">"Jon! Stay near the torchlight! They fear it!"</span>
"Watch out for those claws! And whatever you do, don't look one in the eyes!" Nasir shouts from the back, enthusiastically.
