“-but I have an alternative plan.”
You offer.
“Go on. I’m listening.”
Obviously.
“Deploy Dagger squad to hit this site. We go after a different detector array. Response forces will be split. And they can recover non-electronic data.”
She pauses, thinking for a moment.
“We’ll do it. Give them a timer, we attack….say, site bravo,” She doesn’t use the same HUD as Sophie, but you still get the indicator of which position she wants, “and make it noisy.”
Line to riders.
“Daggers. Delay 15 minutes, then go loud on the site. Look for anything useful. Clearance codes, force deployment, the works. Record and then remove. We’ll be back for you. Understood?”
A quartet of blinking light acknowledgements return. Holding to those clear comms, then.
They’re dropped 2 kilometers out from the already-identified target. You don’t detect any immediate sentry mechs, and silently wish them luck, as they detach and jog away, sticking to the ground. They’re a useful tool. Even if they’re no true match for a Frame.
Now, time for your part. Three other stations.
It is a strange gait that carries you through the low buildings. It needs to be, stepping lightly and with just enough impact to mimic a lighter mech, while still exercising a modicum of speed. All for the plausibility that seismics are running at this moment, looking at your footfalls and trying to determine if the alarm needs to be raised.
And that alarm isn’t raised, as you detect what you were looking for. Target Bravo, active and watching the skies with no thermal signatures of other active mechs or vehicles nearby. A large dish, in an open space, with an accompanying launch vehicle nearby.
Easy pickings. Did they really need you for this?
Firing solution. High-explosive. Aim. Fire.
There’s a thump as the cannon fires its first shot of the night in anger, blowing the launch vehicle apart. The accompanying secondary explosions definitely give a clear signal to anything else in the area. Incoming attack.
A second round wrecks the detector itself.
Make it noisy. You have no problem with that.
Now, next target. Before some, any resistance arrives. Though you might want a challenge. Maybe on the back leg.
>I need 3 rolls of 1d6, for stealth, to make it to the next target without giving the game away.
Skill base of 3, x1. No equipment bonuses.

I don’t want to talk about yesterday. Sure, I’ll get some writing done and post it. Get 2 posts in a day. Yea. Sure. Definitely. FML. Blegh.
