When you got tired of socializing and doing odd jobs, you unwinded by crafting web bombs like crazy alongside the Prowler. Or at least, as much as your body could handle per day. Neither of you were able to recreate the effects artificially, so you were literally extracting web fluid from some sac or gland in your arms. It was kinda gross, and definitely bizarre, but it was effective enough. Each day, you kept going until the mere sight of your arms, riddled with holes, was enough to make you squeamish. You had more needles than a downtown junkie. You figured that it was a good thing that you weren’t seeing your family, because Vic would tear your head off if she thought you were doing drugs.
That thought made you laugh, but it also made you feel very, very alone in all this. You quickly banished the thought and went back to crafting gadgets. Gotta keep your head in the game.

By the time the next week had rolled around, you had the distinct feeling that something had changed in the city. There was a palpable tension in the air, so thick that you could taste it. It was the bracing before a particularly big sneeze. The smell of ozone before a massive storm.
You weren’t exactly a poet, but you felt that these were both accurate illustrations. Point is, the people could feel the change happening too. Any New Yorker who could survive their first few alien invasions was more or less able to feel the city’s pulse, feel when something was wrong. And by now, they were painfully aware that something was seriously wrong.
The tension was starting to get to you too. You needed a way to unwind and settle your nerves.
What will you do?
