>>6319591That roll didn't have that big of an impact in the grand scheme of things, just one mark in the things I keep track behind the updates.
But that being said, this is a good criticism as trying to convey a major plot with many moving parts is not easy and very easily gets confusing. It is also very difficult to discuss as a QM without spoiling things for the future.
When this story arc started I had a set of events and an ending planned, but as things progressed and some choices were made, I kept track of them and outside what Alric or the update point of view gave us, things were moving. And as I said before, when we moved to what we have now, I had existing plans for the future that I could use to substitute for now. Alric being imprisoned by X was a note I had and it has allowed me to juggle parts out and parts in. Now this is not a get out of jail free card and I could go further into Questing as an interactive storytelling form that makes everything a way more complex of a thing, but when you get comments like yours, it does tell me that I have failed in some part. But it is also very good that you wrote that down and posted it, because without it I wouldn't have no idea that I had failed.
I could go "just be on the ride, don't worry about it, there's big plot happening here", but that would be tone deaf and make me seem like very stick up fucktard who gives little to no shit about how the players are seeing things. I could also go "oh it is big drama, Alric imprisoned, plots broken apart, what will Malevus do oooh", but that would also go into the same me being a fucktard box. So now I just need to be better and try to think the action and events in a way that will have a meaningful and hopefully enjoyable ending, that doesn't completely break logic apart.
But if I was to find the silver lining, it would be you writing that criticism, because it means you are engaged with the Quest beyond just rolling or voting. And that makes me a happy QM.
