>>6065590You clear the comms of the glitchy transmission and quickly send a message to your wingmate while attempting to restore your depleted shields.
“Kiro, get me some data to work with here. Coen and Cleo just try not to get hit, yeah?”
Left shields fully recharged(2/2). Right shields partially recharged(1/2).
>Kiro uses [SCAN], target in visual range. Automatic success?.>Coen uses [EVADE] with no bonus. (+10 evasion).>Cleo uses [EVADE] with BODY+ bonus (+20 evasion). “Who was that?” Cleo asks, distracted, as she jerks the fighter back and forth evasively. “It wasn’t that scrap-for-brains AI again, was it? Seemed different.”
“No, but if Guard is here instead of keeping an eye on a certain orange mischief maker then…”
Your eyes widen as you watch the Wyrms fins flash from red to orange first the right, then the left. The constant pressure pressing down on your mind eases for a moment as you feel another presence you’d recognise anywhere.
“Cleo, watch out!” You shout.
Your warning comes just in time as your Foxbat swerves, firing its attitude jets. The view of the Void Wyrm ahead of you tilts dizzyingly as it’s arms blur — the right lashing sector R and the left barely missing your fighter.

As if you’d get me with the same trick twice you star-swallowing bastard!” Cleo gloats, bringing the craft’s nose back around to track the target.
“Dal, I’ve run a scan on our friend here and… it's absorbing almost all the scanner’s energy! Only those weird wires are unshielded and returning any data.” Your Ops officer reports in confusion. “Can't get anything better without a lock.”
“Stealth values of that magnitude would require a shield value almost four times our Foxbat’s microplating.” Coen adds, “Almost equivalent to void plate as thick as the Coober Pedy’s.”
“Damn, this definitely isn't a threat our fighters are rated for.” You grimace, “We’ll have to focus on what we can damage.”
You line up a shot with your LASERs, but the erratic movement of the puppeteered dragon makes aiming difficult. If you could just force it to hold still for a moment.
Might as well get some use out of this hunk of junk.
You focus your already taxed concentration towards bending the simulation to your will but the strain proves too much and you feel Guard pounce during your lapse of concentration.
