As tempting as it was to leverage your connections for the sake of scoring a meet and greet with Dazzler, you decided it would be better for everyone if you just got in line and waited like everyone else.
And to be completely honest, Dazzler’s power made waiting in line seem…kind of fun—as crazy as that sounded. During your wait, you were subjected to spontaneous bursts of light and sound that coalesced into little snippets from her most famous music videos. Sometimes, people would sing along. Other times, they’d reminisce about some of her more classic hits and try to pick out their favorites amidst the improvised collage.
It was definitely an interesting experience, and this time, you didn’t forget to record a bit to show the others later. Ana didn’t pull out her phone, but she certainly seemed to be basking in the glow of it all—living in the moment.
When you finally got to the front, you found yourself feeling a little starstruck at being able to meet Dazzler face-to-face. She was, well…dazzling.
Her long blonde hair had a faint pink streak running through it, and light seemed to glimmer where it hit the blue star she’d painted over her right eye.
The songstress flashed you a dazzling grin and enthusiastically waved a hand at you. “Hey, there! Hope you enjoyed the show!”
“I did! We both did.” you said, gesturing at Ana. “That thing you did when you switched from EDM, to Dubstep, and then circled back to Pop—and the lights were pulsating to the beat—and your voice was getting all warbly—and you could just feel it in your bones—that shit was…!”
You pointed both hands at your head and mimicked an explosion. Even though you weren’t making a ton of sense, Dazzler still laughed good-naturedly.
“Yeah, I love that part too. It just sends tingles up my spine, you know?”
“Mine too!”
Ana nodded. “Yes, there was much ‘tingling’ going on. You are extremely talented.” she added, shouting slightly to be heard over the sound of background chatter.
Dazzler looked sincerely touched by the praise. “Oh, thank you! I love your accent. What is that, Russian?”
The two began a short back and forth that lasted until one of the men standing beside gave her a look that was most likely meant to remind her that there were people waiting behind you.
“We’d like to buy some autographed t-shirts and a few albums.” you declared, Ana nodding along beside you. “My sister’s a huge fan, so I was planning on getting her something.”
Dazzler’s smile returned in full force at the mention of your sister. “Oh, really? It sucks that she couldn’t be here.” she said with a slight pout. “How about a pic for the road?”
You and Ana stared at her in disbelief for a moment. “Wait, like—for real!?”
“Yeah, ‘like for real’! Come on, we’ll take a quick one.” she urged you, getting up from her chair and fixing her hair.
