“What is the status of the Magos?” Lorch asked as he threw the robotic corpse into the hall.
“He is dead. The AI attacked his internal Machine Spirits and forced upon them an overload.” Declared L3KT as he took a power sword and sliced off the head of the Magos, “We will see if anything can be recovered from his brain. He might still be blessed to become a Servitor after this.”
“Damn it.” The Captain said as he looked at the runes displayed within his helm.
The Teams were quickly reaching the end of the halls and seemed to be on their way to circle back any moment. As the security was tripped they did not have much time to make a decision on what to do. A mortal might have crumbled under the pressure of this, but Lorch felt the world slow around him as he focused hard.
+L3KT. Inform me, are you capable of fighting the Machine Spirit?+ He asked in binary as it was the fastest manner of communication the Astartes had.
+I can not attack him directly but I can override individual locations. I cannot guarantee how well my pleas to the Machine Spirits will work as the AI was able to retain control of the exit doors.+
+Can we blast our way out?+
+We cannot. Our deaths are worth keeping as much of this holy location intact.+
Lorch looked at the Acillian for a vital second wondering if those words were really serious. But they were, for what binary lost in tones was made up with the fact that it informed the receiver of what the other was thinking. Lorch had a good feeling that if he suggested blowing a hole out of the place, both the Acillian and the Skitarii would quickly mutiny against such an idea.
After all, the lives of fifteen people was worth less than an intact base of knowledge.
+Can you determine where the AI is held?+ Asked the Astartes with a moment’s heat rubbing upon him.
+Yes, location marked.+ Declared the Acillian before speaking, +There is also a power room. If we can depower the core of the facility we can disable the AI from. It will eventually die even if it has emergency power.+
>We take out the core.
>The power, as the AI might be useful.
>We are leaving. See what we can do with the upper doors.
