With a liberal use of the Stick you crash through many floors, going straight down. That way you hoped to avoid the cops/heroes/soldiers/feds who would have definitely waited for you up where you entered the building. Your hopes are completely crushed when you reach the fourth floor and peek out of the window.
The full squad of soldiers sits right outside the ground level entrance, one in fancy new power armor. A HERO paces in front of them. That one you know. Mostly because of the number of people on the internet who lust over her. Commando flips a knife nervously in her hand while talking to the soldiers.
– "She better not be dead. Knight will kill *her* if she's alive and *me* if she's dead. It's not my fault she rode ahead of the team to save the stupid game she plays! It's not my fault, right?"
The soldiers glance at each other and nod uncertainly. It's pretty clear Commando didn't really need an answer anyway. She picks out a radio and calls in.
– "Slayer, Glock, what's the status, over."
The radio is silent for a bit, then spews out something so crunchy you can't make it out. You glance at Rayle, but even with her giant ears, she just shrugs. Thankfully Commando announces everything out loud.
– "Okay boys, Samurai is alive but out, and monsters are retreating downwards. They'll probably go underground as soon as they can, we gotta go inside and cut them off!"
The power-armored soldier hesitates.
– "Commando, ma'am, we have orders to hold the perimeter outside to avoid monsters breaking out to the streets."
The hero sighs in annoyance. The next time she speaks, instead of sounding like an annoying brat, she sounds weary.
– "You do understand MONSTERS getting away is just more humans eaten in the future? They ALWAYS come back to kill again."
The armored officer is visibly uncomfortable under the sharp gaze of a much smaller girl. Then he relents and turns to another soldier.
– "Kozlov, take command out here. You know what to do. I'll assist the hero inside."
Commando slaps his thick metal pauldron appreciatively and quickly heads to the building, soldier in tow.
Rayle turns to you, whispering, "What do we do?" Good question.
HOW DO YOU ESCAPE?
>Keep breaking floors until you reach underground, escape through there. You'll have to go through Commando and the soldier who's covering her.
>Jump out of the windows and try your luck on with the squad of soldiers on the street. That's a lot of guns, but no heroes. Escape through the streets.
>Clear the gap to the next building with a jump and try to climb it. It has very few windows so you'll have to stick to the side of it for a while. If unnoticed, avoids combat. If noticed you will be a very easy target.
