You don't answer immediately, taking your time to consider not only the potential benefits you could render from training under any of them, but of the duty you tasked yourself with. Kami himself was almost guaranteed to not be directly involved in whatever would happen in the future, and you can tell both from talking with him and from how his energy feels that he's a deeply responsible individual who would never put the world in danger, intentionally or otherwise. Piccolo's energy is by far the most vast in the room, feeling overwhelmingly massive even as suppressed as it currently is, but that same energy is tainted with resentment and a hidden hatred. Garlic, however...Garlic is by far the one you know the least about, his energy concealed perfectly and not permitting you to get a read on his deepest intent. You know nothing of his personality, his history, or his goals. With that in mind...
"I would like to train under Garlic, Lord Kami. I hope that's alright with you all." You say, cracking a friendly smile to your future mentor. Garlic gives a wide smirk in return, one that shows off his fangs quite well, and you can hear cracking from Piccolo's fist as he clenches it harder off to the side. You glance to Barbar to see what his own decision would be, to find him still deep in thought for now.
"Very well then. I look forward to seeing progress from the both of you...and remember, this isn't a competition. This is simply for the betterment of the self and others, my apprentices." Kami speaks up, reminding Piccolo that your choice doesn't reflect upon him.
"We understand, Lord Kami." Both of them say in unison, though you still catch the smug look that Garlic shoots towards his rival. "There's no time to begin like the present, so let's get to it, shall we? Your stores of magical power are pitiful, but that will actually work to your advantage when starting out. Come with me." Garlic alone continues on to say, stepping forward to clasp a hand on your shoulder. As he's leading you out, you do happen to catch Barbar's decision as he finally speaks up on the matter.
"I'd like to train under you, Kami. To face the impurities within myself and conquer them." Your grizzled friend exclaimed, causing Garlic himself to momentarily pause and squeeze your shoulder a little bit harder than he clearly intended to, a spike of fury clear on his face. Moments later, it's gone like it was never there to begin with, and he continues to take you out to a different room of the Lookout.
The place you arrive at is strangely dark, with the most noticeable piece of decor being an arcane circle glowing a faint red in the center of the floor. Thanks to your decent low-light vision, you can make out the shapes of clocks dotting the walls, their pendulums swinging in precise timing to tick their hands forward in tiny increments - you can hear the clicks clearly, irritatingly enough. Garlic releases you here, and gestures towards the circle in the center.
