You’re pleased to note that almost immediately your training has had an effect, with tanks able to coordinate between each other without the need of a master organiser controlling everything.
You’re well into your patrolling and almost finished with morning practice when there’s another explosion, followed by a sighting report and tank shells being fired.
“We’ve found it!” Duck team hollers! “Our shots really are going right through!”
“We’re on our way!” You shout as Max guns the engine and you begin dashing towards the sighting report. The fog means you can’t go as fast as you’d like, as well as a couple of close calls with trees, but you make it there in one piece. You spot the massive silhouette almost immediately and get to work immediately.
“Ruby! Target! Two hundred meters! To our one o’clock!” You don’t expect much since all you have are training rounds.
You’re proven wrong a moment later, when the round goes straight through, hits a tree on the other side, and detonates.
The splinters launch outwards with many hitting the tank, and it’s then you see that it’s made out of
“Cardboard?” Ruby asks, very confused. The tattered remains of the turret swing towards you. You see a flash that’s almost like that of a gun firing and an explosion nearby to your left, powerful enough to rock your tank. When you look around for the mystery tank again, it’s gone.
“Someone’s fucking with us,” Ruby declares as she climbs up and out of the tank. “They made a fake tank and tried to take advantage of the weather to scare us on Halloween.” She walks over to where the explosion happened and takes a poke around. A moment later, she finds something and throws it to you - wires.
