The red door is obviously going to dump you in the middle of a battle or something similarly dangerous, and the silver door gives you a weird vibe.
Before you can reach for the handle, the door flings itself open all on its own (almost like it’s able to sense the finality of your decision) and a sudden, powerful force pulls you inside.
You lose all sense of direction and nearly black out like a pilot pulling a reckless loop. This bout of unexpected inertia makes you incredibly dizzy and nearly causes you to lose your lunch.
Thankfully, your wild ride ends before you blow chunks inside of your helmet.
When you manage to regain your bearings, you find yourself tucked amongst the stacks of a dusty old library. The stacks are organized eclectically; in some kind of bizarre pattern that you can’t make heads or tails of.
You scout around a little, but you can’t find an exit door or any other way out. Looks like you're stuck in here, unless you feel like trying to blow a way out.
A bit more recon reveals that the library is entirely deserted, aside from one other occupant; an older man who checks all your boxes for “old-school university professor.”
It wouldn’t shock you in the slightest to find out that his specialty subject something is something like philosophy or history.
He’s situated in a comfy looking armchair surrounded by a mountain of books encompassing every subject imaginable.
Despite the abruptness of your entrance, he doesn’t bother glancing up from the book that he’s currently reading.
The filigreed title on its spine identifies it as Logerquist’s Lament.
When you approach him, you decide to maintain an aura of…
> Aggression. You’re here to find a way home as quickly and efficiently as possible; anything else is just window dressing.> Charm. There’s no sense in alienating the man right from the get-go; might as well try to open things up on a cheerful footing.> Suspicion. You’ve just been sucked through a doorway that materialized in a magical rift you accidentally tore open; there has to be a catch somewhere.> Curiosity. You’d like to learn more about this library and what it may contain; this could be an excellent opportunity to further refine your understanding of the magical arts.> Other?
