>>5947761>“Well, it’s over.” You nod. “And we made it out alive as well. How about you all out here?”“Piece of cake.” Theo gives you a thumbs up. Covered in blood, he sits atop a body pile of Wolf Beasts. “We slaughtered most of them. The rest suddenly scattered out of nowhere. Maybe they were scared or something, but they all high-tailed it out of here and fled back into the desert.”
“Several of the pilgrims down below didn’t make it.” An exhausted-looking Damian joins you. “But…we did save most of them. For whatever that’s worth. They all look to be beside themselves with grief. Naturally, they’re blaming us for the Demonic Beasts. They’re saying because we killed Bennett, its our fault that those creatures suddenly showed up and attacked everyone. In any event, now that they no longer have his ‘protection’, I don’t imagine any of them are keen to remain within Zanado for much longer.”
>“That makes two of us then. We’ll offer them our protection as they make to depart Zanado. That way, we’ll ensure no harm comes to them from stray Demonic Beasts. But we’re leaving this place. Now. Unless they wish to be left behind to fend for themselves, they should follow along.”“I’ll start spreading the news then.” Before heading off, Damian sighs. “Shouting off a bunch of orders to people that hate me. I guess at the very least, this will be good practice for my future political career.”
“Where do you intend to go to now?” Kate asks you.
>“Garreg Mach. We’ll need to report our success to the Archbishop. There’s also the matter of collecting our reward.”“Very well. The Hellwings and I will go on ahead to Rusalka then.”
>“Huh? Were you planning on living with me? While I’d love to have you, you should know that lodging at Rusalka may be rough for a while. The castle has seen better days…”“I go where Lady Winona is.”
>“I see. Well then, let her know I’ll return soon. And Kate…thank you. Your aid here today was crucial. Regardless of what happened at Enbarr, know that you have my eternal gratitude.”Kate stares right through you, and you’re not immediately sure whether she accepts your thanks. Before she turns her back to you though, she answers. “It was good fighting with you again, Blair.”
As you watch Kate take her leave, Anemone clasps you on the shoulder. At her side is Eulalia, who appears to have regained her composure now that she’s learned of her dear friend’s survival.
“Hard to believe it’s actually over.” Anemone says. She has yet to reapply her guise as Alena, seemingly comfortable being in her true skin. “Anacharsis seemed to be under the impression that Shambhala had already fallen. Perhaps that means that the Knights of Seiros were successful in their mission. The Seven Sages must be no more. We should be proud of ourselves. We played no small part in their downfall. Not that anyone will ever know, of course.”
