You begin to walk around and investigate this huge and very sandy city to find out more about the culture of this newly found empire.
The place seems very well off, and is known as "The Holy Fish Empire". Most people live at least comfortably, and it seems even beggars are taken care of in one way or another, with what can only be described as "homeless shelters" being built all around the city. The people are very friendly, but very very religious. It seems they practice a religion known as "Fidorism", in which they venerate Fidor and Kritla as prophets, and worship The Priest of Light that was crucified by Wife all those years ago. Their holy book is known as "The Journal", and is literally just a journal Fidor kept that they managed to dig up somewhere near his corpse, It details the events of Fidor's life up until he left on the raft to search for Kritla.
The government is split into two parts, that being The Kritlan part, and The Holy Fidorian part. The Kritlan part is the weaker of the two and is led by an emporer. This part of the government has control over things like the economy, public services, and construction. The current emporer is Emporer Juno Kritka. The Holy Fidorian part is the true power in The Holy Fish Empire and has control over the church and the law, and also has the power to veto or change any decision made by The Krilan part. The leader of The Holy Fidorian part is known as the high priest or priestess, the current one being High Priest Grith. The high priest or priestess traditionally wears a crown made out of the top of Fidor's skull and spends most of their time overseeing executions.
In order to become Emporer or High Priest/Priestess, you must first be born into a wealthy family, and also be willing to sign a contract that carves your death in stone.
The Emporer must sign an agreement that when they reach the age of sixty they will willingly volunteer to be hung from a tree, in order to honor Kritla. The High Priest/Priestess must agree to be crucified at the age of seventy, and it is customary for them to undergo temporary non-lethal crucifixion when they are first crowned as another way to honor Fidor, but this is not mandatory. Both the Kritlan and Fidorian parts of the government have their own military, the Kritlan military traditionally wearing iron armor, and the Fidorian traditionally wearing gold.
Practicing the Fidorian religion is mandatory in The Holy Fish Empire, and those who do not follow it are executed.
