"Funny, I feel like I should be apologizing for letting you down. Getting to live in peace for a few days at a safe distance with Casca, while your journey is far from over."
"You do have a habit of being too hard on yourself..."
"Look who's talkin'. The way I'm seein' it's more like you two are adopting eachother's philosophies and making into your own as ye fight together."
Hyde has a valid point. It seems like your view in warfare have finally intertwined. While Guts is starting to mellow out and turn into peaceful solutions to stop his demons from growing, you are becoming more and more prone to violence, it's hard to say you were ever against it, with how much you've already done against Apostles and alike.
While you still are in a somewhat better condition than Guts, either one of you will die first if you keep fighting this endless battle.
"If you don't mind me asking... What exactly did she say to you that would convince you that being together with her is too painful?"
Guts remains silent, pointing a finger at his forehead so you could get the message with better clarity.
"The biggest lie we can tell to eachother, is that time heals all wounds. It doesn't. Sometimes time itself is the wound. The painful reminder that the same gash will be there, that when you try to pick up the pieces, the scabs will be there to remember you of your fragility. The world will keep existing without you, uncaring about your anguish."
"I've tried staring at anguish in the eyes, jump onto my own abyss with all the determination of a corpse who has nothing to lose but his own skeleton... This is not a life worth living. A life that I can invite others to." Guts shakes his hand uncontrollably, knowing that his greatest mistake was assuming Casca would live in peace with one she forgave, but could not forget.
"But what of the baby? You're a father now, you said it yourself."
"I feel like he will be essential in this new life of mine. One that can bring the two of us together... I know how incomplete a child's life can be without both parental figures... Whatever happened to me, I'll make sure it doesn't happen to... Crap, still have to think of his name."
"Damn straight! Better appear every now and then in your kids' life than to not appear at all! That's why first thing I'm doing when I meet the girls again is to not set a foot outside my home before seeing how well they're doing! Then I'm making a boy for every harpy in the egg basket!"
"Have you thought of a name for him at all?"
"The name Lucio came to mind... Casca seems to have liked it. All we need is to find him again, wherever he is..."
