ATTENTION!!
If any QM here has experience with D&D 5e, has background knowledge about Ravenloft or the Curse of Strahd campaign book, and is potentially interested in adopting a quest, this is your lucky day.
I run a quest called Barovian Legends. My last few updates have been inconsistent, weeks apart, and before that they were sometimes stretching to 3-4 days apart.
I've done a lot of shittalking about flakers on /qtg/ before, so too much is at stake for me to leave. Barovian Legends HAS to be completed, or I'll be stuck being a faggot forever. But before I finish it, I've decided to extend an offer to any other humble QMs who may be interested in adopting the quest on my behalf.
Barovian Legends is a simple quest that has a fairly positive reception and no real drama or strings attached to it. It requires minimal knowledge to run (only the skill to run the Curse of Strahd campaign book, and some basic footnotes about the main character Aranuel and her relationship with her sister). It has a clear plot direction, and there's no obligation to keep it running forever, because unlike lots of other autistic quests on /qst/, there's only so much material to cover (anywhere between 5 and 10 threads worth, if you run it at the same pace I've been running it at, or lower if you're quicker) so it's not even a situation in which you are signing away your soul; it's an adaption of an existing property that has a structure, locations and NPCs, and multiple possible endings.
If you take on this quest, you'd immediately get to write for an already-established audience. There are regular voters. Barovian Legends is easy to run, so altogether, the struggle of beginning a new quest would be nil, if that's something you have ever struggled with.
And plus, I don't even necessarily expect you to run it using the same rules and conventions I've been running it with if you don't want to. It would obviously be ideal to keep running it using the D&D 5e system, especially considering we're using a 5e campaign book, but as long as you pay mind to the main character's inventory and stats, you could theoretically adapt it to whatever style you want. As long as you have a grasp on the Ravenloft setting, I have full confidence in your ability to continue the quest with the same quality.
If nobody is interested within the next few days, I will make thread #4 and start churning out updates again. But I'm hoping somebody takes this offer in the time being. I'm not sure if this has ever been done on /qst/ before, but there's no rule saying it can't happen.
