Lolu held all of the kids down tightly as she watched the head of a teenager get shot off. The corpse of Kevert falling upon the ground with a meaty thump as his entrails were strung across the ground. Fear went through her body as she could feel their cold heartedness.
She heard about it, here and there. When they lost contact with the crazed cultists on the outer rim of their system. The slow losing of systems that had almost everyone panicking. She just wanted to live, Live!
They were out there though. Those cold hearted monsters of the Machine Devil. She had heard stories of their kind and how they continued to rush the borders of the Collective. But the collective shattered and now they were taking their chance to strike.
And all this started when the Scorch declared their allegiance to the one who shall never be named. Many of them denied this but so many others became twisted. It was an entire uprising and the Collective was shattered.
To think that instead of the Orks, it would be the metal men to kill them all. They should have eradicated humanity when they had the chance.
As she thought that she heard a series of their guns firing off in unison. It was quickly followed by a series of metal things. On instinct she forced the nearby door closed as fear began to course through her veins. The kids tried to dig themselves into her more but she could not comfort them. In that moment she realized she did all she could as a sound of something came from outside their room.
To her horror Lolu felt the floor underneath her begin to grow hot. Fearing a fire she tried to cast a cooling charm but instead of fire she watched as the floor underneath them began to turn into a liquid sludge. Then she felt the floor from underneath her buckle and dropped them onto the lower levels.
Pain, so much pain. She heard the screaming of the children before her ears were destroyed. She could feel as one after another nearly a thousand of her kind died in agony.
In her last moments she saw through a window at the metal creature looking at her. In her last moment she sensed the satisfaction of a work done perfectly. A thousand souls murdered at the lowest cost in the quickest fashion coming out into the most brutal way.
She did not even have enough time to curse their existence before dying of the chemical weapon.
