The anomaly is more than willing to obey.

Your mind goes blank the moment the corpses open up their mouths. Visions on top of visions on top of other visions invade every inch of your mind.
A young man clings desperately onto the railing of his ship. The roiling storm raging above has slicked the railing in rain water. At any moment he can slip away. His captain stands before him. The last expression he sees the captain give is a disappointed glare as he watches the young man lose his grip.
An old captain is surrounded by his crew. Rusted harpoons are held in their shaking hands. They had to subside off bugs and rats for months. One of them just licked their lips. The stew will be stringy tonight.
A young woman sits around a pile of her bloodied, broken crewmates. Heavily armed pirates are ready to surround her, gnashing smiles and sadistic glares being thrown her way. All she can do is throw herself overboard. It would be quicker.
A kid, no older than ten, clings onto a piece of driftwood. The freezing cold water he's half submerged is has already sapped most of his strength. He can only look up at the man in a military overcoat staring down at him with a dispassionate smile.
A grizzled sailor lays in a sickcot. Every breath hurts more than the last. The on ship doctor offers him a grim choice. The only treatment he can offer at this point is a shot to the head. The sailor accepts.
Over so many years, the same stories play out over and over again. And they all end the same.
All you can do is smile. Smile through the pain. There's no time left to mourn these days.
Soon, the visions end. And by the looks of it, you weren't the only one who saw them.
>ASHLEY: 13!>BENEDICT: 14!>NICOLE: 18!>ADAM: 22![NUMB] Ashley stares down at the pile of corpses in a deep, single minded concentration. Disgust and anger is plainly visible on her face but you can tell it's not directed towards the anomaly "Why? Why can't I cry? Why don't I feel anything? I." She cuts herself off by smashing her hand against the railing of the ship. "FUCK!"
>-1 RESTRAINT TO ASHLEY! 3/4 RESTRAINT LEFT!Benedict is covering his face with his hands, muttering incoherently to himself. Shuddering, body wracking sobs has robbed him of the ability to do anything but stand there. Mourning.
>-2 RESTRAINT TO BENEDICT! 4/6 RESTRAINT LEFT!All you and Adam feel after seeing that is pity. A deep, sorrowful pity but the visions slowly wash past the two of you. Like waves slowly sweeping away a sand castle.
>NO RESTRAINT DAMAGE TO YOU TWO!"...THIS IS." "WHAT WE FEEL." "CONSTANTLY." The corpses cry out. "WE ENVY." "YOU HUMANS." YOU CAN STILL." "FEEL BEYOND THIS."
"Did we bring you a measure of peace?" Adam stares at the corpses below. "Even for a moment?"
"YES."
Suddenly, an arm from the pile of corpses clings onto the railing of the ship. Another hand reaches out with something in its palm.
