>>5370684Standing in-between you and victory are a set of double doors– double doors that happen to require a keycard. However, with five powerful mutants versus one mere set of doors, its fate had been sealed the second you walked into the building.
Sensing your intent, the others back up, far away from the path of bending metal and shattering glass. A vicious grin plastered on your face– one that would probably have everyone else questioning your sanity if they could see it– when your foot meets the FerroFlex doors, the barrier gives like thin strands of copper.
With their backs turned to you, a couple of the goons who’d been at the other side of the door get caught under the metal and glass and are knocked to the floor, while another just barely gets out of the way.
The darkened room beyond the halls is a two-floored office that, as you kind of expected, is filled to the brim with hunched-over geeks typing away at their computers. However, the resulting cacophony you caused is enough to have all forms of work grind to a staggering halt, all occupants in the data center whipping their heads straight to you. Even the guys with headsets had heard that, some of them rubbing at their glasses to make sure what they’re seeing is actually real, but nearly everyone present is too stupefied to say or do anything besides stare.
While your team is waiting for your signal to charge, a familiar ‘kchk-kchk–’ noise warns you of an impending gunshot. Before the guard can even raise his weapon, you’ve already knocked him to the ground with a well-placed strike to the chin.
“Oh my shit! That’s a mutant!” One geek screams the obvious.
“Someone get the guards, another shouts fearfully!” That’s enough to have one particularly fearful geek springing up and out of his seat, running past cubicles to do just that. Shit.
