The words didn’t come from the girls, but W, who was staring out the door with a fearful expression. You felt for your spider-sense, and was surprised to feel the faintest of tingles there. Not an immediate threat, but a possible threat that had yet to project any sort of malice towards you.
Upon hearing her words, Araña and Benga locked up, scanning their surroundings with what you could only describe as a wild panic.
<span class="mu-g">“Are you using your ‘spiders-sense’?”</span>
Glass was beside her in an instant, searching for whatever it was that she was sensing. She must’ve been using her spiders to scout out the area this entire time.
W nodded slowly, her eyes frantically darting around under their lids, as if she were in a dream.
<span class="mu-b">“Lots of bugs. Coming here. Need to run.”</span>
And that’s when you all heard the cacophony of screeches echoing from down the hall. All at once, the Morlocks and Gloria’s girls went pale. You looked between Iara and Glass, wondering what could make them react that way. They were two of the most fearless people that you’ve ever met.
Iara’s lips were moving wordlessly and her breaths were coming a bit faster, but she managed to get one word out that you could barely hear.
<span class="mu-b">“Brood…”</span>
<span class="mu-r">“What?”</span>
Without explanation, both Iara and Glass exploded into motion, racing out the door and down the hall with their weapons drawn!
<span class="mu-b">“BROOD! We need to get the fuck out of here!”</span>
After a moment, you motioned the girls towards the door and followed the Morlocks out the door. As you fled, you caught glimpses of movement in the darkest corners of the room. Countless dog-sized insectoid creatures were crawling out from wall panels, holes in the ceiling, and cracks in the floor. Their crimson eyes glared hatefully at you from all directions, and their sharp teeth glinted in the dark as they chittered in a chorus of gnashing fangs and snarls.
They had brown carapaces, enlarged heads with bony spines trailing down their skulls, long arms with gnarled fingers, and slender tendrils that snaked out from either side of their torsos.
What will you do?
>Open up the Pocket Dimension and let Flint draw as much sand as he needed from the artificial beach inside.>Activate your Flame Cloak and start loosing fireballs into the largest concentration of bugs!>Fight your way through these things and cover your escape with a network of flaming webs.>Use your Resonance Amplifier to keep them at bay while the others fight their way out of this infested area.>Find a place with enough room to deploy your spaceship.
