"Look, I heard you talked about dimming my light and all of that. Do you preach that book-thumping stuff or what?"
<span class="mu-s">"The Father."</span> It creaks in recognition, straining to put thoughts to words. Like it hasn't heard it in a while. <span class="mu-i">"False idol. Doesn't understand the chain of being. Far out of his allotted place. I am your salvation. Show yourself."</span>
"Chain of...being?" An odd phrase. A phrase you would expect an anomaly to say. "Is that some sort of...sun thing? I think you're a sun." THEsun
<span class="mu-i">"My light brings peace to this land. Dim your light. Stand in my light. You shall understand."</span>
Hrm. You're not sure if you understand what it's saying at all but it doesn't seem to be attacking you, at least. Might as well keep going on this path, see how far you can go.
"That didn't answer my question. The hell did you mean by that chain of being thing?" You're really tired of anomalies being cryptic for no good reason. You can hardly fault them, though. They're just fundamentally different from you.
<span class="mu-s">"There is a top. I am the top. There is a bottom. You are the bottom. There is a middle. The Father is in the middle. Know this, know it WELL."</span> The burning gears crackle and clatter harshly, winding itself up. Clatter clatter, clink clink. Is it even a sun? <span class="mu-s">"To reach the top, you need my light. My help. Dim your light. Let my light soak into you."</span>
As cryptic and vague as its being, it's distracted by what you're asking it for now. You think if you can just keep it focused on you, you might be able to get the upper hand.
How do you proceed from here? Your head feels clearer, but still a bit fuzzy. You're not sure how much exposure to its light you could handle, but you should be relatively safe in the shade for now. Enough to ask it a few questions (or to buy enough time for another plan).
>Try prodding into why it's here. There has to be a reason it's here, no?
>[SAVVY] It doesn't take a genius to realize this thing has a high opinion of itself. Focus on flattering it about its glow and other aspects about it. (DC: 16, Bo3 d20. Successfully stroking its pride should lead to it being more willing to listen or talk more. Failure will do the opposite. A good enough write in may lower the DC)
>[FAST TALKER] It doesn't matter what you ask it. Just that it keeps its eyes on you. Keep it engaged on talking to you so Delta can get into a better position to strike it. (DC: 12, Bo2 d20. Success should help you get into a better position to capture it. Failure may lead to it catching onto the ruse.)
>[COOLHEADED] Don't answer. You think it might get impatient enough to come over here. (Wouldn't take much effort but would result in more Light Exposure.)
>Ask it something else entirely (Write in what you want to ask of it)
>Ask it to come willingly with you? (yeah, this is a far shot.)
>Tell Delta to ask it a question. See how it responses to him, if anything.
>No, no, you got a better plan. (Write in)
