“Can you tell me what’s going to happen to the orphanage, please?” You’re curious how this affects the kids and Wilma.
“Child Service Officers came over yesterday to figure out the situation with the Orphanage of the Blue. It created a domino effect after they found out about the destroyed orphanage building, the one your friends belong to. They’re rehousing everyone under the guidelines of Module A.” Yareli explains. She gives you a glance and realizes you don’t know what Module A is. “Module A propels foster parenting into adoption, it used to be the norm before Module B became what it is now. I won’t drown you with details, but Kobashi and I grew up in it.”
“Is it better?” You’re concerned.
“They’re trying not to relocate the children outside town. There are people in town willing to foster children, and the school will help to house some of them if it comes to it. The agent is giving the older ones the option to stay in their CotF apartments. I see this as an upside.” Yareli doesn’t feel strongly about it, but it could’ve been worse.
“That’s good, I think.” You didn’t think there was a better choice. “What happened to Ivanov?”
“I’m housing him. There were 2 kids that required special attention, and I offered to help.” Yareli is a big softie! “Kobashi is fostering the other one, a girl named Fiora. The rest will be staying at the same building with one of the Child Service Agents: Mr. Auburn, until he relocates them.” That name sounds familiar…
“Is Ivanov doing good?” You wonder.
“No.” Yareli is quick to respond.
“T-That’s a bummer.” You expected better news! “What else?”
