The Omnissiah quickly snapped his mind into the numerous frequencies of the men around his being. Unlike Mars, where the Omnissiah had near perfect control of his men this was a much different scheme of things. Here people gave commands through vox speakers and casters, to give an affirmatively vocal command that was known to all.
This did not mean the Omnissiah was relegated to simply speaking a single command in a single moment. That he would be forced to delegate his words to the Captains and Lieutenants that were still upon the battlefield. All the Omnissiah needed was to link his commands to those who could hear him, let them be the Vox Troopers, Astartes, or the numerous Mechanicus Troops that were upon the battlefield.
“Prepare for a Collapsing Defense.” The Omnissiah ordered his troops first and foremost, “Be willing to sacrifice your lives for the future, I will make it worth while.”
It was a hard ask in these damning times. The native instinct of all living things to keep themselves alive so that they may create more of their own kind. What his words contained to override this instinct was the knowledge that by answering the Omnissiah’s commands with actions, that they would make a difference.
It was enough to override the instinct that was natural into the programed nature of their training. Several thousand years worth of experience turning men into the warriors that civilization needed was programmed into these soldiers. Perfected upon the cutting edge of the Long Night where failures of mobilization resulted in the death of planets.
He called upon it, and with it he was answered with affirmations from nearly all of them. Those who did not affirm his statement only asked what was the next order.
The gunfire from the frontlines were released into the encroaching hordes. Turrets were fired with impunity to cut down the mass of Nurgle Daemons that were approaching the frontlines. It was like a wall of meat that was shielding the Daemonnets and Flamers from the exacting strikes of the defenders.
In it the Omnissiah began to move himself back. His movement was being followed by those defenders who he thought to be necessary for the coming battle later on. Others he had already marked for death within the mind of the Omnissiah. Their deaths measured to be done in at this exact moment to extract the greatest toll against the enemy.
He would try his best to make sure that their souls were not wasted. To be eaten by himself, the Omnissiah, so that they did not care the terrors of the afterlife.
