There was an urge there, Lucian would not lie, but he held it back to ask just a few more questions. Still the rush to go out for action was there, not wanting to waste more time than was really necessary, “Who is the one leading the defence?”
“King Kargin!” declared the Dwarf happily.
That would be enough to explain the King’s decision to move aside meeting their group until tomorrow. If there was an impending invasion of Undead then he would be spending each and every day in preparing the defenses for it. Let it be the commissioning of bolts for their bows or weapons to be given out to the citizens in case there was ever a breach from the front.
“Eldir,” Adok leaned into towards his fellow with a thumb pointing towards Lucian, “Would you mind if my fellow went out to help the King? He holds a Grudge against the undead.”
The eyes of the slightly older Runesmith widened as he waved his hands at Lucian, “Get out of here then! You can meet his Lordship at the top of the walls. Look for a pair of staircases leading up the wall. Tell the guards that Eldir sent you!”
“Thank you for the privilege, Runesmith Eldir.” Lucian gave the Dwarf a curtious bow as expected of any Bretonnian to someone who is giving him so much.
“Get!” Shooed the Runesmith, so the Knight ran as fast as he could.
The streets were quickly becoming more and more desolate, for even though there was always a dwarf working something at sometime, they were still tied to the terrors that lived outside. Best one live inside their home incase the incursion of undead broke through their mighty walls, that way they could defend what is left of their clan and family.
Because of this the Knight was able to become the fastest thing in the streets. The Knight easily crossing the streets towards the mountainous wall that was pointed out to him by the Runesmith. His words did not lie, for Lucian came across a staircase that appeared to dig into the wall in the direction of the outside gate.
There several squads of warriors were preparing their equipment, their weariness removed upon invoking the name of their trusted Runesmith.
Soon Lucian was going up the mighty stairs, only for him to find a platform at the top of it. Confused for a moment, one of the Dwarfs who he had passed came to his rear and pushed Lucian onto the platform that now several Dwarfs were standing upon arranged in rank.
Then, to the shock of the Knight, he felt the floor shoot up towards the sky. Looking up, Lucian realized that they were going up some sort of chimney.
