[MORWENNA] "..."
The Beast Goddesses eyes went dark at me, and her head hung low.
'I've said my peace.'
I spoke far too much, but she needed to hear it. She needed to hear every last thing she thought to be absolute deconstructed. She needed to hear, in the most unadulterated way, just how senseless and foolhardy this all was. All her crusade and pain was, in the end, was just a circumstance of the evil beasts that haunt this world. Trying to destroy this world over your own pain was not the answer.
[MORWENNA] "Juu... fought the Dark One."
'I have. More than once.'
[MORWENNA] "And juu... ju..."
'Won.'
Morwenna lifted her skull and looked up at me again.
The look she was giving me, she could tell I was not lying. And that was what got to her the most.
I heard her try to summon her gravelly voice back to sound, but she couldn't find the words, and so I stood up from where I was and came over. The closer I got, the more she shrank down, as if she thought she still had to be apprehensive for whatever reason. Perhaps it was the care for her brother that she clung to, or her people. I thought nothing of it as I grasped her hand, which made her shudder, and ran my finger across the wounds that the Dark Lord's influence were opening on her ligaments, to try severing her fingers. They shut in an instant, and she gasped.
A gasp of relief.
[MORWENNA] "..."
[MORWENNA] "...I... I can end zhis all... I cahn end this crusssade... but... but... my brother musssst... die"
[MORWENNA] "...Morgrim isss not zhere anymore. The brother I knew issss already dead. He has vecome Usultu's puppet and lossst his mind. The brother that did not want me to die, who encccourraghed me to drink the sssecond sip is gone."
Morwenna's greens returned then, piercingly glaring at me from her empty eye sockets.
[MORWENNA] "Vvv... vhut the Blight vill not end... until I die! My people would NEVER have it. They don't want me... to die."
>Then let the Morwenna that is a Goddess who contains the Blight die. This is the one thing the Emperor would have never expected you to do once you'd taken his raw deal. You contain the Blight now, but you can kill it for good, and return to mortality. You and your people can be normal again... as they once were.
>Then stay the same, as you are. You contain the Blight now, and you are Immortal. It cannot spread so long as you don't share your cursed blood. Embrace who you are, and embrace your people. They're the Beastkin now, but they're not monsters. You are not a hideous creature. You... are special, Morwenna.
