>>5778223“So, have you seen my wallet too? I lost that as well.”
“No sir-ee.” Damn. Maybe whoever did this to you stole the wallet. You might never see that again. Maybe you left your phone in the bag to charge but you’re still not sure about that. Here’s hoping. The walk over to the office was short, but you mulled over the names mentioned earlier. Were they really on the list before? Yours should’ve been for sure, and yet it wasn’t. Come to think of it, all those names sound feminine. If his name wasn’t listed first, you’d think he joined to chase the girls, leaving the other option. Man’s got his own harem apparently, and even if that's not the case, the thought of it amuses you.
At the office, you were able to claim your stuff. Grant seems friendly enough with the faculty, enough so that you were able to avoid the usual checks of ownership. Describing the bag and contents well enough, it was returned to you and not in need of ID or parent pickup. What was inside? Schoolwork, your jacket, and fortunately your phone. Unfortunately, the battery was stolen, rendering it inoperable. This has to be an act of conspiracy against you, for what though is still a mystery.
Slinging it over your shoulder, you were just about to part ways when one of Grant’s friends took the two of you by surprise.
“Hey! Graant! What are you faffing about for?”
“Alysse? Thought you weren’t coming today.”
“Schedule cleared up. What, don’t you like having me around? Who’s this?”
“I’ll be the one to introduce myself here. Domino. Photography club member.”
“Eh? Member? As if. Your hands are shaky and I don’t think you’ve got the eye for composition.”
“Wait, I thought you might’ve recruited him or something. I didn’t, and doubt the other two would’ve at all.”
“I saw a sign up flyer up on the pinboard.” That was more so blurted out to cover yourself, though it was the truth before all this happened.
“Same way I got in? Cool. But not like that’s a big deal. More members means we get out of that glorified closet and into one of those multipurpose rooms.”
“We don’t need more members as is. Maybe some of us like that cozy little spot.”
“Maybe so, but it’s not the Grant-only club. It’s staying open.”
