>>5638143>>5638148>>5638150Without tools, there is little one can do against the elements. You'll need at least an ax and a drill to make fire. And with a spear you'll be able to attempt hunting smaller creatures or fish in the river.
The ax is simple enough and is something you've made many times in the past. You start by looking around near the river for two pieces of stone, a large jagged piece to serve as the head and a smaller one to shape it. You know from past experience how important it is to find the right size and shape stone, that greatly reduces the time to craft. These found, you strike the small rock against the larger until pieces from the latter flake off and you are left with a smaller core, a little bigger than your hand and of a similar shape. You then polish the stone using water from the river, grinding the head against a flat boulder lying nearby. Once you've got an edge, you sharpen it to perfection with a small, pointed stone, and then begin work on the handle.
Using a large rock as a hammer and your stone knife as a chisel, you cut down a thick tree branch to serve as the handle. Both are used again to cut the branch down to a reasonable size and then cut a hole for the head to go through. You take a break at this point to start a fire, as you'll need it to harden and further shape the hole. You gather some dry leaves from the forest for tinder and a few branches (which you strip of bark with your knife) for the fire stick. You also gather some twigs for fuel. You have the fire within a few breaths.
Using small pieces of red-hot twigs you harden and shape the hole in the ax handle. Then, once it is cool, you drive the ax head into the hole. With this new ax you chop down a thin tree and cut it into small logs to keep the fire going. Then you get to work on the cord drill. The spear is the easiest of all, nothing more than a long slender piece of wood, with one end carved to a point with your knife and hardened with fire.
