One more thing, the Slaught are absolutely terrifying. They make the Mitu seem like children cartoon villains.
Spoilers for those who haven’t read
>Alpharius goes to a planet to find his lost brother Omegon
>Encounters the Slaught
>Just a few of their ships were able to wound his Gloriana, The Beta. Alpharius is like 'what the hell, this is like the Imperium's biggest ship class'
>Just a handful of their warrior constructs were able to fight off his Learnean Terminator honor guard, blasting them with what's described to be basically Guass weapons; green glowing disintegration beams that felt "as though the very molecules of my body were being ripped apart”. One easily picks up a Learnean Terminator and bites its head off in a single crunch which makes even Alpharius think that was fucked up
>The Slaught themself was able to match Alpharius in 1 on 1 combat at full health. Alpharius opens up with a plasma shot that punches a hole through its chest, but this does nothing. Then it fires back with its gauss-like weapon, vaporizing part of his armor and chest, and was able to dodge Alpharius return fire and that of fellow terminators. It wrestled him matching its strength to his, also releasing caustic acid that was melting his suit. Plasma, bolter, and melee weapons seeming to have no effect on its ever shifting flesh of worms
>Alpharius defeated it by punching through its body and leaving a Krakk-Grenade in its chest. This was only possibly by his honor-guard librarian distracting the Slaught’s mind for a brief second at the cost of his life
Yeah, this is precisely why I want us to use volkites and disintegration weapons for enemies like this nonsense. Also we should get shields that keep acid and other liquids from touching our armor
