Canonically many nobles especially from planets with military traditions become warriors and generals themselves. We have integrated the Manachean Commonwealth for example, which would be our largest hive world, and one that produces regiments that are a match for the Solar Auxilia.
Actually in 40k most high ranking warriors tend to be nobles of one type or another anyway.
