That idea seemed to spark some interest in the others. If the mutants could take advantage of the city’s established laws to protect themselves, then they would possess the same rights as everyone else.
“The woman I want to introduce you to–Madame Webb–she’s a philanthropist. She’s helped people before, and even paid me good money to break up a fight once.”
“If you trust her, then that's enough for me. You've done right by us ever since we've known you, so I'm glad to have your help on this.” Glass said.
No one argued that point. Everyone here knew by now that you were here to help. There were still a few skeptics among the Morlock community, but that could more or less be chalked up to non-mutant prejudice.
“Glad enough to bust out another one of your rousing speeches?” you teased.
“What? Are they really that bad?”
Skids gave him a flat look. And off in the corner, Ester was making googly eyes at him.
“My bad. I guess I got a little carried away.” Glass said, rubbing the back of his neck.
“Don't sweat it.” you said in a reassuring tone.
“All you need to worry about is getting that tailored suit we talked about.”
“Unless you want me to rip that thing full of holes, it's not happening.”
“Oh, come on. Is it because you don't know how to tie a tie? Look, it's real easy. I’ll show you.” you said, creating a strip of webbing and wrapping it around his neck.
“You see? Over, then under…”
“Hey! Quit it!”
The conversation was briefly derailed by you trying to force a tie around Glass’ neck. But it wasn't as if anyone made any real effort to try and stop you.

Afterwards, the conversation drifted back towards the matter of making money. And for once, the Morlocks were actually excited about the prospect of interacting with other people.
Beak suggested gathering some of his other mutant friends and playing musical performances. He also jokingly mentioned getting in touch with Dazzler for a live performance, which, honestly, wasn't a bad idea.
Tommy proposed the idea of making and selling art. Glass neglected to mention that you'd already pitched that idea before, since he was probably hoping that she wouldn't come to the same conclusion as you. He didn't look very eager to start pumping out art pieces for rich snobs.
And when it came to Iara's turn, someone blurted out that she'd be perfect for construction. Specifically, in the field of demolition.
She opened her mouth to utter a biting retort, but something suddenly caught her attention.
She turned her head and craned her neck to stare at a pink and white creature rustling in the trees. The others turned to look as well. And it wasn't until she got closer that you recognized her.
