The first thing you notice upon boarding the Q->D-CORP train is the pitiful state of the passengers that pour out of the train. Their outfits are ragged and, to be quite frank, barely better than rags a hobo would wear. Their eyes are glazed over and hollow while their skin has been pulled taut over their skeletal bodies.
You check your tickets to make sure this is the right train. Everything seems to be in order.
[SHELETERED] Max tries her best to comfort the group to the best of her ability. "Hey! It'll be all fine! As long as you don't look at them, right? I'm sure they'll be on their way soon!" However, you can't really wipe away 20~ years of trustfund baby naivety in only a few missions.
No one responds to her. Even Benjamin can only offer an awkward half-smile. None of the passengers bother looking at her either.
<<span class="mu-b">"Damnit. I wanted to be a Cleaner so I wouldn't say shit like this anymore. I-it was like a gut instinct or something."</span>>
>+8% CHAOTIC SPARK PROGRESS from the two triggers of SHELTERED! MAX is at 55/180%
It's not hard to actually find a seat on here once the dozens of D-Corp passengers leave. Aside from your group you only count six or seven Q-Corp Drones boarding the train.
[OPTIMISTIC SPIRIT] "Cheer up!" Casey claps her hands to get the group's attention. "We already handled everything thrown our way in Q-Corp. This will be a walk in the park! Keep your chins up! If we keep up this pace, we'll be done with our shift before dinner time!"
"Treating this like a 9-to-5, eh?" Kiara shakes her head in mock disapproval. "Hey! I guess she can't be wrong."
"Y-yeah! We can do this!"
"C'mon, Max, put on the smile that won me over."
Max is now sporting the shit-eating grin she normally wears. "Alright. Let's do this."
"Woo. Was worried you wouldn't get the stick out your ass." Clover mumbles. It's clear no one was really offended by that slip up she made. You can't lie, you find people beating themselves up way more annoying at the end of the day.
Everyone seems to be in a better spirit however!
>MAX and BENJAMIN are now at full RESTRAINT!
>You heal 1 RESTRAINT! 8/11 LEFT!
You turn your attention towards the window by your seat while your allies distract each other with polite(ish) conversation.
The fog of Q-PHI-7 blocks a good chunk of your vision still but it quickly fades once the train blitz past the various sub-districts far, far below the tracks of your train. Once the fog is gone and you enter another Company's territory, you notice that you're passing right through I-Corp's territory now.
Right, right, I-Corp is neighbors with both D and Q-Corp (well, it also neighbors C, R, J and H-Corp but that's besides the point). You think you're actually passing by the sub-district you now live in if that familiar apartment building was what you thought it was.
You're thankful that you're able to travel by train for a good chunk of your travel across the City.
