“Nino, what’s your assessment?” You ask.
“I can give you plans of action, not predictions.” Nino says flatly.
“Alright, give them to us.” You say.
“We always have the option of attacking Yunqi. Expect heavy casualties and low odds of success. However, if we manage it, we will secure, in the worst case scenario, Yunqi, a space port, huge stockpiles, a massive population center and we will kick out the police and downscale this to a single vector of operation.” He says. “Reasons for this are the sky dome, the heavy defenses and the police themselves.”
“So, something to be avoided?” Rani asks.
Nino doesn’t reply to the question, then continues. “Next, we could attack across the river itself. This will be a quick and brutal action, no matter how it goes. It gives us an option to catch the Kommunalists off guard and kill a lot of them, but also all but guarantees we will lose a lot of men.”
“Next?” You ask.
“Crossing Mei upstream and descending downstream, then attacking the Kommunalists. This is the safer but less decisive option. Also a bad one in my opinion. In the best case scenario, we will inflict a tactical defeat upon them. We won’t knock them out, we wont cause mass casualties and we won’t overrun them. They will detect us and they will prepare fortifications.” Nino continues, takes a pause then begins again.
“Or, we could strike in the north. A amphibious attack combined with strikes from across Mei and from Varec. A risky and sure to be bloody engagement. Yet, potentially, if successful, one that could cause a lot of losses. Probably best used as a distraction to the main show.”
“Or we could just build up more soldiers?” Lanu asks.
“Then they will dig in deeper and build up more reserves and stockpiles. We took a break because we needed to consolidate our conquests.” Nino says.
“What about carrying out more at the same time?” Hagos asks.
“We dilute our forces and spread them thin.” Nino replies, waits a second, then turns to you. “What will it be?”
