A scout died after being trampled, and his companions took vengeance on the beast, slaying it in front of its owners. Children cried after witnessing such brutality, their endless screaming made a scout lose his temper and assault the child, giving him a concussion. When the scouting party returned, its captain recommended the offending scout 20 lashes. They acquired 9 prisoners, 4 elderly, 2 adults, and 3 children, one of whom was unconcious. Out of fear, they revealed the location of many villages, but most importantly a route to the Capital.

While this was happening, other cohorts were burning down the land closer to the dam; officers taking the initiative to clear land to own after rescuing the Emperor.
