Soon after, the pair encounter someone unexpected on the road. Ahead of them is a dark young boy, who is calling out in an almost sing-song voice.
“Brother~? Brother! Where are you~!”
”Ho! Young lad, what are you doing up on the mountain, this far from the village!?”
The youth turns and falls silent as he encounters the strange adults. Elly leans in to Jon's ear and whispers to him.
“Look at that outfit! I've never seen something like that before. Plus it's so dark! Black-dyed cloth is really expensive...”
”Young lad, are you alright? It's not safe on this cursed mountain, especially alone.”
”I'm not alone! My brother is... around here somewhere. He'll come back to guide me to the village. I know he will.”
Jonathon looks at Elly with a worried expression. She seems worried too.
”Do you know which way to the village, lad?”
”Yes, this way!” The young man points towards the mountain's peak; clear opposite direction from Shovestone. That's the only village for days worth of travel. You shake your head.
”No son, it's this way.”
The kid shrugs, and in a carefree voice- ”Guess I'm lost then!”
>Point the kid back to the village
>Offer to guide the child back, hopefully for a reward
>Rob him and leave
