So aside from that free to play Century game I mentioned, as well as PS3 Lair, there is Divinity 2 (NOT the same as Divinity Original Sin 2) and the rest I have not played: Panzer Dragoon (different style though) and maybe Drakengard?
But even these games are not really the true experience, what you want is to transition seamlessly from say fighting at ground level to mounted aerial combat etc.
It is weird because you can just take Ace Combat, make the jet fighters F-35 dragons? Add in some castles and ravines and things. You are now Tom Cruise Top Gun Dragonlord of Miramar. Every fantasy rpg has dragons, from POE to Divinity OS 2 to Dark Souls, Skyrim and Dragon Age Inquisition, but you (mostly) cannot ride or fly them?
So maybe someone will have to create a disappointing text-based substitute hehe, but you must make it grimdark!
