TalOS took a few seconds to correlate his thoughts, +I can see why you would think that. It is an Opportunity Cost of whether you take a few minutes to make a pleasure just for yourself. I personally would not benefit from it so you decided to sacrifice your own enjoyment for it.+
There was a mix of a frown and a smile that seemed to describe only some of the emotions that the Emperor displayed, +You are correct. There is no need to keep such luxuries for myself when they are not needed. In addition, every second of my time can be used towards future goals and aspirations.+
He watched the Emperor think for a moment, sort of like a mimic of what TalOS did. It was not like Tech Priest taking in his thoughts but a man who was reflecting upon his own actions, +It was something so trivial that I did not consider it worth my time. That is the answer that I present to you.+
+One that I feel was filled with a great amount of thought.+ TalOS agreed as he gave a firm nod of understanding, +Do you regret it?+
+No.+ The Emperor said simply as he took a bite out of the meal. It was a simple and straight answer, one that showed that he was indeed the sire of Rogal Dorn. He looked upon TalOS and studied his son for a moment, +What would you have done?+
TalOS did not need to think as he spoke next, +I would only indulge myself when the need comes for it. Rest is an essential component even if one does what they enjoy and the application of small joys are enough to bring that about. It is reasonable, as I have organized meals without the cooked Corpse Starch even if that is my favorite of meals.+
That was a good answer, TalOS realized, as he looked upon a faint grin upon his creator’s face, +We all must make sacrifices for the greater good of humanity. They can be either small or large. What matters is whether they are worth it.+
+Of how much did you spend, and will it be worth it?+ TalOS asked his creator with a firmness and confidence he always held.
The Emperor looked upon TalOS closely now. As he did TalOS could feel his person and soul being scanned for what it was. He was being read by a Psyker, but it was not reading his mind but the limitations of his new abilities.
Then, for a second, TalOS noticed something within his creator’s face. TalOS did not need his abilities to know the truth was spoken when he said, “I cannot say, for I do not know.”
