The disguised worm looks uncertain for only a moment, before her expression turns determined. She nods eagerly. You equip her with a kobold short-sword—a dagger to her, just in case.
“Yes, my Dragonborn,” she affirms.
Glowie departs swiftly and with surprising silence for one with such a… Hefty rear. It is always uncanny to you how agile she is, while disguised. She once explained it to you as like removing heavy armour or clothes—that, being sued to navigating with a dozen legs and a much less nimble abdomen, she felt almost liberated by the Amulet of Disguise. Still, your training in direct melee combat with her was… Limited, in your time below-ground. You can only hope she doesn’t have to utilize it.
“The rest of us will avoid the elf-in-the-tree,” you tell your four kobolds. One of you will keep watch. Two will join me in entering the home. We will each find one of the remaining adventurers—the armoured one, the mage, the one with the valuables. Each of us will strike silently, precisely. They shall never again wake.”
The kobolds silently nod in agreement. They may be little rural savages, these mini-reptiloids, but you have been told—and seen in practice—that they are well-honed hunters and killers. Now, you will put that to the test.
