For now, I simply paused as two figures approached me. A man and a woman. Their hair was purple and it stood like spikes on their heads. Green eyes like jade fixed upon me as they snickered in their approach, tails like that of a rat sinuous behind them, and the woman had two horns. They wore identical clothing, and colors. In a twist, they had came and found me first before I could find them. They were smart deities, these twins. Twins who were Twins only in the regard of sharing their domain.
[SASAKI] "Hmm! A visitor!"
[SATOMI] "And not one for the enrolled."
[SASAKI] "An odd meeting but not unwelcome one in this great institute for the learned, and the learned that are-"
[SATOMI] "-the greatest of all their peers, in the whole world. I think then we should give our Immortal guest a greeting fitting of-"
[SASAKI] "-Sincere Sasaki, God of Knowledge and School. And his sister-"
[SATOMI] "-Sincere Satomi, Goddess of Knowledge and School. Joined by brother."
[SASAKI & SATOMI] "Pedantic, know-it-alls, four-eyed and unapologetically so."
[SATOMI] "We teach."
[SASAKI] "We elevate."
[SATOMI] "We govern the general intelligence quotients."
[SASAKI] "We ask you now to share your knowledge."
[SATOMI] "Of whom you are."
[SASAKI] "And what you want."
The Twins both extended their hands to me, as if to give me the signal that now was my turn to speak in their strange order of speech, continuing and finishing each others sentences and pulling off this strange synergy in talking.
'Uh... Ah! Y-Yes! I'm Muna. An Immortal whose a big fan of Qilins. I just wanted to meet the esteemed teachers of the world's greatest school."
[SASAKI] "Lies are good when you have things to hide."
[SATOMI] "And thankfully we won't chide."
They saw through me...?!
[SASAKI] "We know not the truth, but we sense-"
[SATOMI] "-a Goddess in thee, hiding in plain sight."
They both gestured at me with shushing fingers as they smiled simultaneously.
[SASAKI] "Well go on now-"
[SATOMI] "-make our day."
[SASAKI] "Ask away."
[SATOMI] "We'll answer if we can."
[SASAKI] "We're just wondering what's your hand?"
Tch... they might have been smart enough to know I was lying, and a Goddess, but they didn't know more than that. And I suspect that snobs like them didn't truly care either. Admitted know-it-alls only care about one thing, running their own mouths. And where they've culminated in supreme knowledge, they only desire to get to show it off by talking all they know to whoever can stand them. It's thanks to the fact they actually are wise that anyone tolerates them....
Snobby deities who were arrogant and saw themselves as above everyone else. Strictly imposing and enforcing their School's rules and curbing individuality.
