You enter the laboratory, which is full of vials, microscopes and other machines you cannot pronounce the name of. Ana is currently looking intently at a few vials of different colors, not paying any mind to you.
You say hi, and she almost jumps in surprise. "FUCK! Don't do that dad! I could've broken something here! Damnit, where was I? Uhm..." She lifts one of the vial, and shakes it. "...argh, forgot to label that one, do I just throw it away? Could be important though, I'll just put it with the rest. What do you want, dad?"
You tell her you're here to check on how she's doing.
"Doing great, not socially, but I might be able to fix that. Not that I care if people don't like me, I'm happy being alone. Actually, while you're here, can I ask you a weird question? Was mom always like uh... you know," she puts her hand on her non-existent chest and puts her hands further apart.
You tell her that it's probably something she should ask her mom and not you.
"Pfrrt, yeah, 'hey mom, are your tits natural or did Sophia take all the good genes?' That conversation is too awkward even for me."
You're not sure how that makes asking you any less weird, but you still give her an answer, that answer being that her body hasn't changed much since the time you knew her. You can't say you've paid particular attention to her when you were still in school, but you think she was...more regular sized back then.
Even so, if they were artificial, your magic would've figured something was wrong pretty fast, so you're pretty sure it's natural.
"Maybe I'm just a late bloomer then, tch."
You ask her why she even cares. You're pretty sure she's not trying to interest some guy, and judging by her haircut, she's not one to care about her looks in general.
"...a friend made fun of it, and it's getting kind of annoying. Whatever, maybe my growth spurt has yet to come."
You do find it cute how she says 'a' friend as if she has more than one. You ask her what kind of experiments she's doing.
She sighs. "I dunno, kind of just testing things. The things in the sea, they're weird, like biologically speaking they make no sense. There's simply not enough nutrition to sustain something this big, it feels like they eat something I can't see. I've been messing with a few ideas in my head, and I came to a very interesting conclusion, and it's that whatever makes us able to see other people's emotion is fueled by the same thing that they eat."
Huh, is it? You were never quite sure if that new feeling thing was actually magic or something else entirely. Then again, if it was made by a god, maybe it's magic so advanced even your MPR can't quite figure out how it works. Then again, isn't everyone able to use this feeling thing? Even people who don't have magic at all? So it can't be fueled by magic, right?
