>>5493061Well done on solving the puzzle, but the advice I would give to players is you really need to use the melee characters lol. Really really not sure why half the party is not even buying, picking up or equipping weapons, I even just spawned in some through the random spear ammunition lying around for the arcuballistae etc. But I think the action economy is really poor, most of the time none of the heroes seem to even be doing anything. There are four heroes (and two npcs supporting) for a reason. I would have begun that combat by rushing in melee to the archers to distract and engage them whilst the others armed and fired ballistae etc. I probably would have tried flanking or hiding in the left path shadows too.
And also you can just loot the environment. For instance in the river crossing, you fought sword guards - search and take their swords afterwards?
As I demonstrated currently with the enemy archers, you can shout at the npcs to do things, as free actions they generally will obey (so long as it is not completely nonsensical). The wizard can aoe, just think of any dnd type effects and I will see what I can find from my pictures and world lore grimoire (I have a huge list of spells). And as you may have noticed, I am generally very lenient in the positioning and manoeuvring of characters (no wargaming measuring tapes or dnd counting grid squares here) if it seems sensible and vaguely possible you can reposition and change the formation of characters freely on the battlemap.
Also because you upgraded the Wizard and Elf hp, they can also soak some damage (not anymore for the Elf though, she is heavily wounded argh). But equip them with weapons?!
Also remember that from the link here
>>5484771The Elf can spellcast but her spells will likely not have as strong an effect as the Wizard.
I hope this all makes sense lol. I have a feeling most anons here are too familiar with just choosing greentext or are maybe unfamiliar with ttrpgs as they seem too shy to actually invent or command the characters to do much hehe. The way I am imagining the combat gameplay is stylistically similar to Pillars of Eternity or Baldurs Gate etc. But anything that seems possible, just give it a try!
