You inhale deeply, stepping closer to this wizard named Vault. You do not catch the stench of wicked magics on this fellow, not even a hint. That calms your nerves a bit. In fact, you can tell that Vault is quite a powerful magic-user indeed. Or at least, whatever powers he does wield takes a lot of energy.
You explain to Vault about your supernatural abilities and their ties to the wilds, and ask him about his own power, and his intentions with you.
The wizard straightens his tall pointy hat and smiles again. You're not sure if you like that smile. "Why, I'm glad you asked. I have been blessed with mastery over the magical art of TELEPORTATION, which is, the ability to travel instantaneously..."
You furrow your brow, trying to make sense of this concept. Walking, running, flying -- he can move faster than that? Faster than the wind? You scratch your beard and search your head for the fastest thing you've ever seen. "Like lightning?"
The wizard laughs. "Sure, let's say that. I can travel to any point I can see faster than lightning."
Before you can say anything else, Vault is no longer in front of you. You swipe at the air, and feel nothing. He didn't become unseen. He must be gone!
"Up here, old fellow!" Vault's voice comes from atop the house. You whip your head up to catch his shape, but he's already gone. He appears in front of you again, then to your side, then he taps you on your back, re-appears on the house, and then returns back within talking distance.
Your head spins a little, and your neck is sore from whipping your head so much. Something about this troubles you. Men are not meant to move to quickly.
Vault sees the troubled look on your face. "Yes, yes. It's all so disturbing, isn't it? Thankfully, I was raised to not abuse my gifts. After the death of my master -- every good wizard has a master, you see -- I decided to devote myself to becoming the guardian of this place. There was a great beast that arose, seeking to rend the flesh of men, and I simply sent it away. That took a great deal of power, but I managed to do it. Now the commoners and fighting-men fear me! I have want for nothing in this place, except for some good friends..." Vault gets a wistful look on his face.
>"We have no interest in becoming your friends. Leave us alone.">"Then what exactly do you want from us now?">"I don't see why we can't start as acquaintances, and move on from there.">(Write in)
