>>5931889It had been three days since then. The rains continued to wash the lands and you heard that the farmers had started to murmur about there being too much water. You meanwhile had continued practising the arcane writing during the afternoons and then in the evenings with Jandice before sharing the bed with her. You hadn't dared to touch on Fel again and it did surprise you a bit that no nightmares of previous kind had happened either. Hopefully you didn't jinx it by thinking that.
And during the days you fell into your usual administrative role, just in Tarren Mill instead of Dawnholme. A messenger carried finished papers back to Dawnholme and brought new papers for you to sign or work through in return. Seemed like both Tari and her father Tannis were keeping things rolling and going on back home.
Same time three prisoners, the one with whom you had spoken with and two others were transported to Dawnholme. The rest would follow when they had recovered enough.
But on the afternoon of the third day you received a messenger from Captain Garside. Seeing the importance of this, you called Sir Gravis to join you in your room as you went through the report.
"Normand chose to camp in Shoredon instead of pushing forward. The weather has turned the hills into one big swampland and they are waiting for the rains to stop. Cromwell did the same and chose to divert to Stonedon. Neither had seen or spotted anything unusual, not even Cromwell who had skirted close to the troll totems and their territory." You explained to Sir Gravis.
"Not the greatest campaigning weather." He replied to you.
"What do you think? The rain might continue for days and days." You asked him and put the scroll given to you down. You had told Monica to treat the messenger well and get him dry, warm and fed.
"The rain hampers everyone just as much as it does us." Sir Gravis said and continued. "Well maybe not the trolls, but if there are bandits or others."
"Could we use that to our advantage? Send a scouting force ahead? Rovers with some archers, maybe Sir Radan and his men or Lyion and the forest bandits?" You asked him.
"Not the worst idea Prince Alric, but the men won't be happy to trek around in the rain and mud." He replied to you.
That was a bit of a pickle. You wanted the hills to be under your control as soon as possible so that the work could start on the oil rig. Delay of a few days was acceptable, but who knows how long this weather will continue?
>Send a reply to have them wait till the rain ceases. No point in marching through bad weather.>Have them send a scouting party ahead and use the weather to mask their approach. Try to gather as much intelligence as possible.>Gather a raiding party and have them use the weather to their advantage. Find and destroy any bandit or Syndicate remnants in Strahnbrad Hills>Order them to advance despite the weather. The progress might be slow, but no one knows how long the rains will last.>Other, write in.
