You’re perhaps decades away from having this place working at full capacity, if ever. But that doesn’t mean you can’t put in the work and get something out of it in the short term.
[I’ll ask Doctor Henry the same question, but would it be possible to even get one of these labs up and running? And if so, which one?]
Arcade takes a minute to chew it over, starting to speak but stopping himself multiple times.
“It’s possible, of course. We would need the support staff I spoke of, plus actual scientists and academics, not just lab assistants. But yes, I think with enough focus one place we could make some headway. As for my pick, the Innovative Toxins Plant may allow us to reverse much of the radioactive poisoning in the wasteland. It’s not as much of an issue in the Mojave, but anyone with that knowledge could change everything. The X-22 Botanical Garden for obvious reasons, but I think there could be other uses. Genetically modified crops that grow in half the time, need half as much care and are twice as large? I’m not a farmer but I have looked at the numbers. Eventually the Mojave will reach its carrying capacity, probably sooner than later.”
You thank Arcade for his contributions and begin to leave. But before you do, you ask one more question.
“Oh God, you’re not still looking for him are you? No I haven’t, but it’s probably not good if he’s on the loose. Even as just a brain. I did see something a little strange. A few weeks ago, Muggy the little robot was gathering up some random trinkets and muttering about getting revenge on the “Stink Tank”. Honestly I didn’t think much of it because how much damage could a robot the size of a mug do?”
That’s the question indeed. You ask yourself that over and over as you head to see Doctor Henry.
Doctor Henry is indeed at the Y-17 facility. Unlike before, you have been here many times before, but didn’t find much value beyond some Sink upgrades and a few weapons.
You step down the stairs into the lower level and find the place much neater than you left it. Doctor Henry is in the middle of carrying a stack of papers over to a long table that has several other stacks nearly organized. Unlike Arcade, you don’t surprise him with your arrival.
“Ah Six, I was wondering when you’d be stopping by. I hope you haven’t come to fetch me, this place is great!”
He sets the stack of papers down and wipes his hands on his own set of scientist scrubs. You walk closer and see that each pile has a label written with chalk below it. They range from “Trauma Harness” and “Auto-Doc” to “Dr. Orderly” and “Medicine”, along with others all along the connected tables.
[No, I haven’t. You’ve been busy though.]
