"I don't believe you." You immediately replied.
The Assassin scoffed as he straightened his back and pulled a small chain that held several rings.
"This falcon ring has been passed through my family for generations." He replied. "So show some respect to your fellow noble, Lady Silverthread."
He wasn't lying, on the ring was a falcon. Your eyes opened a bit more as you recognised one of the other rings. Alric had one in his possession, supposedly a ring five to Alteraci nobles.
"I am sorry, I didn't mean to doubt, but…" You started to say.
"Truth for a truth." Lord Falconcrest said and something caught his attention as he turned to look elsewhere, somewhere behind you.
"Malevus, here you are. I was wondering where you had disappeared, stayed enjoying the views?" Madam Martin spoke to you as she approached you, her large hat first thing you saw.
Quickly you turned to look where Lord Falconcrest had been standing and he was gone. No sign of him or his lantern or anything. He was gone like a puff of smoke or blended into shadows or something.
"M-Madam Martin." You mumbled and greeted her.
"You look like you saw a ghost, do you need a smoke?" Martin asked you and offered you her fresh pipe. "I thought you were talking with someone? Was I mistaken?"
Damn it! You were interrupted and Lord Falconcrest hadn't asked his questions yet. Oh no, what if he thinks that you owe him? Is he still around even, or fled or let the Mirror Image disappear? You weren't sure at all what to do! Should you obfuscate and hope that he reappears? Is Martin in danger?
