>>5208754Some Lenti start producing bigger seeds. The extra volume is not used to store more supplies for the developing seed, given the abundance of nutrients, but to store air, making the seed buoyant, and causing it to get swept up by currents. For now, the seeds float about the oceans until they gather enough nutrients to start developing, with the extra mass causing them to sink back to the ocean floor. Some do so sooner, their air pocket breached by shocks ill-advised consumption by Zyvish specimens, as the larger seeds can still fit within the filters.
Those modifications cause the affected Lenti to seed far and wide along the planet's main oceanic currents, instead of in a circle pattern.
The effects on population growth remain to be seen. While the floating seeds no longer have to fight for space in between their elders, a trip on the currents is by no means safe, and there are slightly less of the bigger seeds per stem.
