>>5161657I genuinely do not want to upset anyone even though my quests are filled with huge amounts of guns, swords, blowtorches, disfiguring weaponry etc as well as clowns, underpants and psychotic nurses.
It is really hard trying to give people what they want... in past quests some anons wanted to interrogate and intimidate people, even at awkward times. Now when I give them that option at no risk whatsoever, they do not use it and lose out on important information.
An anon wants lots of violence, nonstop battles and fighting, thinks it makes no sense that my story is about sometimes running away, talking and persuading, or abandoning violence throwing away guns, to get a better ending to heal the world (ok it is a bit stolen from Metal Gear Solid IV, V/Death Stranding). Now I try to give them what they want, I do everything I can to hint that they should go into this battle so that they can get all the cool items I have prepared. I outright explain that even if they die, they will suddenly unlock Afterlife powers that will summon even better weapons and items. It is literally in the main section lol, the very first paragraph, you cannot die. You only end the world when your actions make no sense lol. Then they choose to run away from the battle they wanted, and all the fighting and guns and weapons they wanted...?
The players do not seem to understand that some npcs also tell them lies. I outright warn them that some npcs lie to you, then in the very next section immediately an npc says some suspicious information. Later the anon complains, but why did this thing the npc say make no sense? Your story must be wrong!
The anons complain about having no information, but they execute all npcs without speaking to them. Of course the npcs are not friendly or helpful or adore you to begin with... They say they want fighting, but then run away from battles against enemies, whilst executing those allies sent to help them...
I wanted to create a slightly more masochistic challenge lol. I do not think anyone actually understood or cares about the message embedded in the setting (it is buried pretty deep lol). I understand that anons all have busy/stressful lives and maybe they want just a comfy easy quest and story where they can relax, feel super powerful and never lose. There are plenty of quests that provide that better than I can on this board. I just cannot bring myself to make it lol, it is not how I play or who I am...!
